Hello Paul,
Sorry I didn't make the zoom meeting this morning.
Excellent Minutes as usual.
I found using Itunes on the PC it was easier to use the two factor
authentication.
Paul could you please send the email address for Alco blom the developer of gps
app.

Paul asked if anyone else , gets the message that the sound level on his ear
phones was being turned down to protect his hearing?.
Joe said that this message could be turned off in settings, it is probably in
the Health app.
Tom gave us his take on the Orcam Reader device, giving the class a
demonstration of its main features.
The Face recognition feature worked pretty well, but Tom did not see a lot of
use for this skill.
He is reading a book by former President Mary Robinson, and the voice reading
the book, was excellent according to a majority of zoomers today.
The glasses that are the Orcam Reader are held onto the frame by magnets and
Tom says that the glasses are very well secured.
Reading the book is a pleasure but reading a newspaper is more challenging.
One can ask the Reader to read headlines, numbers, words and so on.
It is great to have someone like Tom , put this expensive device through its
steps, and we await more information from Tom in the coming weeks.
Cearbhall told us of his new learning app, its DO LINGO,
And it’s a language learning app.
He is teaching himself Irish, it works by giving the person a few words in
Irish and he must select the correct answer.
On completing a number of tests successfully he can go to the next level.
We were joined today by Marty (welcome back Marty),
Marty is now the proud owner
Of a new Alexa dot device and wants to know more about its use and function.
Paul told Marty that if she likes music, she can subscribe to Amazon for its
music service, it costs about 4 € a month, and one can get any type of music
either pop, jazz folk or classical.
One can create playlists and so on.
There are a number of quizzes like Question of the day, yak yak , and the
weekly pub quiz.
Just say Alexa open question of the day or play yak yak quiz etc.
Also one can do mindfulness courses, Yoga, and other fitness courses.
There are many many skills, and these can be seen on your Alexa app on your
phone, and if one puts in the correct location setting one can get times of
transport, weather for your local area etc.
There was a discussion on using the AIB app to transfer money, and this seems
difficult for most people,
Jackie said that clicking the buttons before the edit field was the best thing
to do,
And not clicking on the edit field and then clicking done.
More discussion on the way Brexit effect on
dealing with Amazon, like custom charges, vat charges, and payment of postman
charges of 10€
It will be sometime until this terrible nonsense is sorted out by UK, and
EU.
Jackie said that there is major problems with bringing Guide dogs to the North
of Ireland, and from the mainland of Britain to Northern Ireland.
The Guide dogs association in Britain are highlighting these problems to the
government in Britain.
Joe shared some tips on the dreaded Two factor authentication usage. #
Here's the tip for a VO-user for two-factor authentication:
If you double tap into the edit field, then move your finger up a bit,
you should hear something like, “from messages,†then the six
digit code. Hold that with one finger and Tap anywhere on the screen
with a second finger and then swipe to continue, and you’re done.
