Thanks Paul for the minutes and to Bert for the info about any pod. It is
exactly what I had been hoping might be available since amazon didn't appear
to have such a direct and seamless way of listening to podcasts outside of
the US.

Michael Lavin asked for help in using u tube, and Bert told us of a
brilliant app called Pontis-media-downloader , which can copy files from u
tube and store them in its own site for playback at a later date.
Jackie found the Voice Dream Scanner superior to the KNFB READER. After
trying it out over the weekend.
Tom Langan wanted to know if Alexa can play podcasts, and if so what can
she play?
Again Bert came to the rescue, if you ask Alexa to play by saying Alexa
enable any pod,
Then you can ask for a particular podcast.
There was a lengthy discussion on navigation apps, like Moveit, and a new
one from Microsoft called sound scape, its only available for users who have
an uk address, it envolves glasses which are connected to your smart phone.
The consensus was that Blind square was the est navigation app for vip's.
Cearbhall downloaded the latest version of nvda (non visual desktop access)
But he is getting a very annoying bleeping sound, advice given to him from
varying members was to remove this version and download again.
Voice dream reader was invented by a person who wanted to help people who
suffered from Dyslexia this probably explains why the scanner is so good.
There was some great information from Declan probed by questions from
Cearbhall on Chrome casting,

People suggested Panasonic and the latest Samsung sets. People can find
videos on utub and cast them to view on their smart tv sets.
Joanne Gorman who primarily uses Zoomtext, wondered if she could benefit
from Jaws, but Zoomtext is a screen reader as well,
the basic version of Zoomtext is a magnification programme, allowing the
user to
increase the magnification to suit their reading abilities. But other
versions of Zoomtext have sound as well.
