Others in the list might like to know this information but it relates to a
specific question raised today and the exchange Club.
To create and to access bookmarks in JAWS when in a Word document, I found it
simplest to use
Control+shift+F5 each time.
When you want to set a bookmark, press control+shift+f5 which opens in an
edit box so just type the name of the bookmark here immediately. Then tab to
the "Add" button and press enter . Press escape to close the bookmark dialog
and carry on with the document you are reading.
Later, when you go to the Word document again, just press
Control+shift+f5
And the same bookmarks dialog opens on the blank edit box.
You can type part or all of the bookmark name if you know that you have many
bookmarks but, if not, just arrow down to the bookmark that you set
previously and press enter. This activates the bookmark but does not close
the dialog. Just press escape and you will find the JAWS cursor is on the
place where you set the bookmark.
To remove a bookmark:
Just press control+shift+f5 and find the bookmark by typing it into the edit
box or by arrowing down the list of bookmarks. Stop when you hear the
bookmark name. Tab a few times to "Remove" and press enter. This will remove
the bookmark but not close the dialog. Press escape to close the dialog.
So, control+shift+F5 is the answer!
