Level 1 NVDA Course
Date: 24th March
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
NVDA is a free screen reader for Microsoft Windows that is now used in over
120 countries and has been translated into more than 50 languages. Using the
power of NVDA means that people with sight loss can continue to be active
members of the digital society, enjoying access to a range of online
services, as well as education and employment opportunities. If you are new
to the NVDA screen reader and would like to know more, this course is for
you.
Level 1 iPad Course
Date: 31st March
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Every iPad has numerous built-in accessibility options that enables anyone
with a visual impairment to use the device independently. These include the
ability to speak to your device to request information, and use of
magnification and speech output to help read information displayed. If you
would like to find out more, our Level 1 iPad Course is the perfect place to
start.
Level 1 Smart Speaker Course
Date: 4th April
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
In this course we explore the range of Amazon Echo smart speakers available
and how they can be used to help people who are blind or partially sighted.
We cover creating timers, reminders, setting alarms, shopping lists, and
initiating information searches by speaking to your device.
