The meeting extends good wishes to Paul in his forthcoming procedure.
A new attendee was introduced to the meeting; his name is Bob Corazza. He
is
an Android phone user and has recently retired.
Joan has successfully logged on to BorrowBox using the app and downloaded
a
book from Dublin City Public Libraries; prior to this she was having
difficulties and was being told that her credentials were invalid. An
officer in the library sent her an alternate link which resulted in a
successful outcome.
Cearbhall has drawn up a tutorial for OverDrive;he told the meeting that
the
BorrowBox app was very usable and accessible. He feels that the entire set
up process can be done online.
Dominique was very impressed with the Maps app on the iPhone and has only
recently started using it.
John demonstrated the Optima Daily app from the same stable as ViaOptima
Nav
from Novartis. He showed us it reading a document and identifying colours
and objects. He feels it has great potential.
Mary said she is just learning to use BlindSquare and feels that if there
were any good colour identification apps out there it would be great to
demonstrate them.
Michael went through the Hailo app with Mary but due to poor signal
strength
had limited success in using it.
Bob and John felt it would be good to know how many android users there
were
out there and if they could exchange ideas on appropriate apps.
