Bert reported that the Apple Home Pod is only available in the UK. This is a
voice operated speaker system that adapts to its location, plays audio help
with everyday tasks â?" and controls your smart home.

Annette, full of the joys of her recent trip to Tenerife, asked for help with
Moovit.
Moovit is a free travel app for public transport â?" with live updates to bus
schedules, as well as route-planning for cities across Ireland and anywhere
else in the world. It claims to carry Bus Eireann, Dublin Bus, Irish Rail,
Luas, Kenneallyâ?Ts Bus Service and moreâ?¦
Bert managed to find a route successfully, as did others in recent weeks, but
Annette found that she could not change it from Tenerife! All agreed to try it
out and report next week.

Declan reported that he had tried to use Google Assistant on his android phone
to tell when the next bus or train is due without success. Mary tried the same
with Siri on the iPhone 8 and also reported bad results. Mary prefers the
Realtime app which gives consistently good results.
The meeting discussed the pros and cons of Blind Square and agreed that it is
not the best for route planning but is good for identifying premises in the
immediate vicinity on the move.

Declan had tried an app called Buymie to order and pay for Deliveries from
Lidl and found that it costs more than they say on the promotional info.
Buymie is a mobile app for On-Demand Groceries. You can order goods from a
selection of local stores and have them delivered speedily by a personal
shopper.
