This morning was our first go at using the new zoom link. All went well and
we'll soon be all up and running using this link through history. Declan will
post his usual weekly email with the new link for Monday’s meeting.
Paul Wanted to know what kind of phone cases people are using on their IPhones.
Several suggestions were given. From Apple, Amazon, otterBox and leather Flip
covers.
Jackie was asking Dominique about sending emails to the lists. Jackie
attempted to respond to an email but she was replying to an email address from
the iPhone list but the subject line said FB Exchange. We all got puzzled on
this one.
Jackie told us about her new Microsoft Modern USB Headset, this enables
Jackie split sound with JAWS, which makes it easier in online meetings.
To split sound with JAWS you
1. Insert and Spacebar
2. press the letter V
3. Press the letter B
4. then press either Left arrow or right arrow depending on which earphone you
want JAWS in.
This setting will reset once you turn off the computer.
following the same steps and doing up arrow will bring JAWS back to both ears.
Jackie also said she downloaded with the help of Declan and Cearbhall the Add
on for NVDA that will allow the same split sound setting. Using this add on
with NVDA the setting is permanent until you change the setting back.The
earphones must be stereo and not Mono.
Paul had an idea about the up and coming senses form. There is a piece for a
time capsule and if we put in something like "I hope in 100 years there is a
cure for eye conditions like RP, as currently the treatment is not for advanced
RP"
Jackie said she wants to marry her dog.
cearbhall asked about rail apps. No one could help so it was suggested to ask
Mondays Group.
Jackie asked about audible and the bug of swiping in the Library and listening
stats. Everyone had issues using the library on audible. There seems to be
quite a few issues with audible and its been an issue for months.
Ken said its possible to subscribe to netflicks via a Sky Subscription.This
works out slightly cheeper than using Netflicks that has increased its prices
lately.
Cearbhall was asking about the accessibility features on the sky Queue box, Ken
and Joanne said about the voice guidance and Jackie adviced not to take a screw
driver to the remote.
Ken noticed Martha’s audio wasn’t that clear as usual. she said she was
using her after-shocks. All agreed the after-shocks aren’t The best on zoom
and teams meetings.
Dominique when using jaws wanted to know how to turn off phonetic spelling
while typing, make sure NumLock is off, then press The number 5 twice on The
numb pad.
Cearbhall told Dominique on how to enable keyboard help with Jaws. Press insert
plus the number 1.
