Hi David,
Hopefully we can get together and have a conference in Rostock next year. I
will attend regardless of the date.

Ps. "only" me and my coworker was affected, so all the plants and animals are
fine. We had a thick layer of woodchips on the floor outside of the enclosures.
Here the mold grew a lot during early summer last year. The floor and lower
parts of the walls has been microcleaned (with steam) and the ventilationsystem
has also been cleaned and equiped with hepafilters. It has helped a lot.

Hi all!

As Kristin says we have been talking about the possibility of running a
conference next year in Rostock but I need to speak with the new Director there
first to confirm if it is possible, as you know the possibility of a conference
at Rostock was cancelled last year due to Covid and again this year but it
seems that there may be some hope for us all to be able to move around a little
more freely next year and so we would like to try and get everyone together
again.

Before we go too far with any organisation it might be good if we could get
some feedback from the members of the group (you) on if you think you will be
able to travel in May / June next year and if you would be interested in
attending if we do go ahead?

Soren, whatever you have in your glasshouse sounds awful!  Both for the plants
but worse for you!

It seems that many of our parks have had a busy summer, which is great news for
us all of course but I am also aware that there have been some difficulties
too, particularly in having to reduce staffing numbers either temporarily or
for the longer term, which is very sad when life has been so difficult anyway.

However we must look forwards, not back, so let’s be hopeful that we will be
able to get together next year and discuss some of the good and bad things that
have happened to us all over the last couple of years.  As I said previously,
it would be great if you could have a think about if you might attend so that
we can get some indicative numbers to work with, I know that many still have
concerns over how we ‘live’ with Covid-19 and by no means want to put anyone in
a difficult position so please do feel free to say no as well as it will help
us to build a picture of the groups feeling about getting together.

Artis zoo is also back to normal but conference / festival rooms just started.
Still we are on one 1/3 of our year round visitor’s and still not many tourist

Hello Kristin,

Nice to hear from you. There has not been as many topics as usual over the past
year. In Aalborg the number of visitors are almost back to normal and all thing
concidered the economy is ok.

We had a rather lage problem with mold in one our tropicalhouses (the one where
i work) and had to clean everything. I got quit sick from it and still after
more than a year have problems with pus in my eyes. Other than than everything
is good 🙂

Hello friends,

unfortunately I had lost the contact with you, probably did not pay attention
when the new e-mail address was sent by Sergio.

But I think, in the last 1 1/2 years of the pandemic, everyone has probably had
to deal with themselves and all the things related to the pandemic.

Now I have received the new contact address from David and get back to you.

I hope you are all healthy and your zoos are doing well. We had a lot of
visitors last summer because people couldn't travel abroad. David wrote me the
same  about his zoo.

Currently, our whole zoo and the houses are open. But only a limited number of
visitors with masks are allowed to enter the houses. At the two largest houses,
there are visitor advisors who control this.

This means high personnal costs. We hope that everything will get better.

will no longer be allowed to go to our conferences on business, as I am
unfortunately no longer responsible for planning and greenery.

But all this has to be discussed first and approved by the bosses. David works
for us.

For today many greetings and I would be happy about a feedback from you after
such a long time.
