Yes, excellent idea. That is one of the ways I tell clients to send
files.

There are times when I want to send out a .reg file to my fellow
workers, and this is one of the file types that Outlook blocks. In these
cases I simply rename the file to regkey.regDELETE and tell the
recipient to rename the file deleting the DELETE. This allows the
attachment to get through, and assures I meant to send the file not some
virus or Trojan on my machine so they're pretty safe executing the file
once they've renamed it.

I think more importantly, why do you want to allow an attachment that if
a user clicks on it could:

1. Send itself to everyone is your address book.

2. Send all your personal data to somewhere.

3. Use your computer for attacks.

4. Control your computer.

5. Wipe out your data.

6. Etc.

Hi,

I have E2K, SP3, my outlook XP users get some of their attachments
blocked. They get a message that outlook has blocked it. They are
.VBS; I did not do anything to cause this. How do I unblock or change
settings in either Exchange server or Outlook client.

Thanks.
