sometimes doesn't receive email

hi all,
i've got problem, i am testing my exchange server 2000. with my account in
outlook 2000
i tested my exchange server from my other account in yahoo.
but sometiime the message i sent from yahoo didn't arrive to my outlook
2000.
sometimes arrive and sometimes not and sometimes arrive but a few hours
more.
i don't know why?
my external DNS is in DMZ, my exchange together with my internal DNS in LAN
forward to external DNS while my proxy mapping port 25 to my exchange 2000.
so when email arrive at proxy they go to my internal exchange.
MX record in external dns goes to proxy in order to be mapped to my internal
exchange
MX record in internal dns goes to my my exchange. and exchange uses
internal DNS
to send email to the internet.
where the message gone?
