Same way you send as anything else. Create a new message, make sure the From header is displayed, and enter the ledn into the From. Copy-n-paste might be easiest. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist... ________________________________ From: Tom Kern [mailto:tpkern@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, March 06, 2006 2:55 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: silly PF question http://www.MSExchange.org/ This will be even a sillier question now- How do you send as using a legacyExchangeDN with Outlook? Is it the legacyExchangeDN@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx? Or do you mean, saving the address as a private outlook contact? Thanks. p.s- do you know of any place on MS that they actually tell you that it is not possible to send as a PF if it is hidden? I always thought one of the points for Exchange cannonical ACL's was so the exchange servers could read perms and other attribs of objects that were hidden from the GAL form Everyone? Thanks again, guys! On 3/6/06, Michael B. Smith <michael@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: http://www.MSExchange.org/ I've recently been told that if you enter the legacyExchangeDN for a mailbox, even if it's hidden, you can still send it. Try and see if it works for a PF. ________________________________ From: Tom Kern [mailto: tpkern@xxxxxxxxx <mailto:tpkern@xxxxxxxxx> ] Sent: Monday, March 06, 2006 2:29 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: silly PF question http://www.MSExchange.org/ I can't send as a PF unless its unhidden from the GAL. If its hidden, I get a "User does not have permissions to send as this folder" message. When i unhide it, it goes away. I thought someone might have a MS kb that states this requirement. Try it. it doesn't seem to work any other way I typed the name correctly and have "Send As" directory rights. I changed nothing but unchecked "hide from GAL" and it works. When I check it again, it breaks. Just want to make sure i'm not the only one with this "experience" Thanks alot On 3/6/06, Taylor, George <gtaylor@xxxxxxxx> wrote: http://www.MSExchange.org/ Permissions are permissions, wether visible or not. I have never tried this with a public folder, however for a normal mailbox if you know the exact spelling it can be hidden and you can still send on behalf of. I would guess that a folder would be the same, you simply can't look it up. Following this line of thought, do all perms only work if the folder is visible or just things like "send as" or "send on behalf of"?
