Delete the e-mail account for the new user (using Active Directory Users and Computers). Then wait for the system to synchronize itself. Go into System Manager, find the mailbox (under your first administrative group, servers, server name, etc...), and "RECONNECT' the mailbox to the new user (the one you just deleted the exchange mailbox for). This will allow you to reconnect the old mailbox to the new username, making them "one". The problem, all mail you are receiving right now, will be gone. So copy it all to a PST prior. -----Original Message----- From: KEN MORRIS [mailto:KMORRIS@xxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, October 07, 2002 1:35 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] reconnecting to recreated account - help! http://www.MSExchange.org/ Hello all, I have a problem where a user account was deleted from the system, including the mailbox (only done a few hrs ago but the system was replicated). The user was re-created and not connected to the old mailbox the admin who re-created, let the system set up a new account (same email address). My dilemma is that I now have to connect the new user (same name and email address) to the old mailbox. Suggestions?
