We have discovered that reverting to our original gateway for outgoing
message to hotmail is now working. Guess it must have timed out as you
suggested. As long as we don't go getting viruses too often we can carry on
playing ring around the roses with our gateway servers to maintain comms.

I do think it rather unprofessional that hotmail do not provide proper
contact details, but I guess they would just get swamped if they did.

For the record we are currently using Sophos anti-virus, but considering
changing provider as it does not seem to be doing a particularly good job for
us (An alternative we have on trial is finding all sorts of stuff that Sophos
is missing!).
