I'm not all that familiar with it. IO was trying to get itto track smtp
trafic only and that dons't seem possible. I know Smtp is a part of the
TCP/IP suite so I guess I'll have to track TCP trafic.

They can test reverse DNS lookups on your mail server, it won't be
definitive if they say it's good, but if it's bad there's a very good
chance they'll catch it.
Net monitor will definitly tell you, but it can be a bit daunting
filtering relevant info if you're not familiar with it.

I have DNS forwarded to my ISP for internet access. What do they need to
check? and what can I check on my side? I'll try the Netmon and see what
I get

When I've run into this problem it has typically come down to your MX
records or internal DNS. I suspect the problem sites you're hitting
perform a reverse lookup on all incoming, if they can't resolve a
reverse DNS query they reject the message. If you're familiar with net
monitor you can capture packets while sending to a problem domain, then
inspect the packets for a "cannot resolve" type message from the problem
domain.

I have a question for the group. I just recently reinstalled my DC (Wuch
is my Exchange server) and installed Exchange 2000. My DNS is resolving
correctly and I can surf to any site on the internet but when my
Exchange server tried to send messages out to the internet it's not
connecting to several sites. I cannot send email to MSN.com,
Hotmail.come, Worldnet.att.com and a few others. I have sent messages to
to other external domaines (Yahoo.com being one of them.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. My firewall
setting have not changed at all and it was working when I had Exchange
5.5 running. Any and all help would be greatly apprecieated.

Woody
