Hi :

To speed up the connection speed from Outlook to Exchange server ,you
must put the preferred DNS IP address in the client computer as your DNS
server .

in addition you can put the ip address of the exchange server when you
creating the outlook profile it will speed up a little accessing the
mail server.

Best Wishes
  Tony

        Ah I have a few questions;

        1) is exchange running on your C: drive or have you put it on
another
        drive?
        2) what does your task manager say about how much PF is being
used?
        3) are you aware that installing Exchange a DC is not good
practice?

HT doesn't mean much these days. I know with SQL (I think) it
looks at
how many physical processors you have not physical and virtual.

        I'm running:
        Exchange 2003 SP1
        Windows 2003 server
        Xeon 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 36GB x 3 HDD
        No of users 40
Function: Mailbox server, DC, GC, DNS
        Client Outlook 2000

The performance of the server is very slow from outlook, when
user open
outlook it will take around one minute to open the mailbox, it
is a new
server I build this server only last week. Users workstation is
not the
        part of this domain.

        Anyone can advice?
