Hello Mark,

by doing this, external users won't receive a NDR ?

Hi Dolly

Well its a bit like a "big black hole" as far as Exchange is concerned the
message was delivered OK, so all it really did was write the transaction to
the log files and expand the DL, because there are no mailboxes in the DL
then it need not do anything else, it will not start to eat your hard disk
space at all, it just a neat little trick :-)

Hi Mark.

It works perfectly, but I'm wondering where are these mails are going
to....I don't see them.

Robert,

Assuming this is Exchange 2000.

Here is a simple fix to the problem, create a mail-enabled Distribution
Group, DO NOT PUT ANYONE IN IT, go to the Email Addresses tab and add the
SMTP Address for the ex-employees. I would then suggest you go to the
Exchange Advanced tab and hide this group from the GAL.

I normally create the group and call it ex-employees or Dead Employees and
just keep adding SMTP addresses to it, just do not add anyone to the Members
tab.

Hope this helps

My ex-employees subscribed for stuff. Service exchange now gets tons of
email stating undeliverable message since ex-employees account has been
deleted. How do I stop Service Exchange account not to receive these
emails?
