Why don't you want to use Exchange server for outgoing emails ? You
cannot configure an Exchange based Outlook profile to use a different
SMTP server just for outgoing mails. You can do that only with POP3
accounts.

Exchange Servers

I would like to set up my OL clients (2000 and 2003) to receive mail
from my Exchange 2000 server but send using an SMTP server. I believe I
can distinguish between outgoing and incoming servers in Outlook Express
but not sure in Outlook 2000 and 2003.
