Outlook 2002 client closes on sending mails

Hi,
I have a problem with outlook 2002. All the outlook 2002 clients on our
network cannot send mails while the outlook 2000 clients can. Outlook
closes down immediatly one tries to send or reply to a message. However
if you add a pop account pointing to the exchange server one is able to
send mails without outlook closing. Anybody come accross this problem?
