Hi I had a similar problem, It was caused by The IUSR_Wam user Password
being incorrect, When you try to log off I was getting events in the
event log relating to IIS, Can't remember exact event id's though.

To fix the problem I had to reset the user password, then go Admin
Tools, Components Services, Then find Com+ Applications, right click IIS
Out-of-process Pooled Applications and click start,

After this was done I could successfully log off

Hope this helps
