Makes perfect same! If another ISP's customer uses the same server that
they used before, it'll deliver locally.

I had the same problem recently * I have to speak with the ISP and ask
them to stop resolving mail for my domain * to their mail servers.Even
though I had them forward my MX record their mail servers still wanted
to control the flow of my mail..

I've migrated a customer's email infrastructure this saturday, where he
previously had his email all hosted on an ISP with POP3 mailboxes. Now
he has his own mail server inside, we published SMTP outside, and I've
kept his DNS zone in the same ISP where he had the mailboxes, just asked
them to change the MX address.
It all worked wonderfully, except that some domains are still sending
mail to their former e-mail server! I've checked that the DNS is
correctly configured, both of my DNS server are pointing to the correct
MX. (tested it thru dnsstuff.com). All tests passed!
My question is: how come? If there were cached responses on ISP's out
there, they already should have expired.
Any clues?
