yes it do. I had the same problem. After stopping RAS ,CPU utilization came
down 2-10% most of the time. You might need to reboot the server. can you
update me whetehr it worked or not.

It is running, so I stopped it because we do not use it. How does this affect
store.exe?

Do you have RAS (Remote acces sserver) running ? If yes than do you really need
that?

Where is GET request initiated? I have been monitoring the server and it has
been two days the store.exe process is taking up 99% of processor time and
about 715mb of memory. I also see at least 15 processes waiting in the
processor Q. I have one storage group with about 75 mailboxes on a dell 2500
1.13gz processor and 1gig of memory server. Is this normal? or is my
processor going to fry? I also reapplied sp3 on exchange and rebooted which
brought everything to normal for about 5 hours.

The Exchange 2000 information store (Store.exe) process attempts to compare
every folder name within an authenticated GET request for a URL. If the URL
contains more than a 100 nested folders the store will compare against each
folder name in an attempt to locate a match. This process may cause the system
to utilize an increasing amount of available processing time for an extended
period of time. This problem was reproduced when the URL had 1000 or more
invalid folder names that were nested.
The resolution for this problem is to re-apply the latest service pack on the
server.

Rukhsana

I have a Win2k server SP3 and E2k also on SP3 and the CPU goes up to 98 - 99%.
I know it is supposed to use all memory and release when needed by desighn, but
is that true for the cpu also.
