Full Text Indexing on the Exchange 2003

Hi All,
I would like to ask you regarding the Full Text Indexing on the
Exchange 2003, what the benefit and impact for the client and server
when we implement this indexing? since we should aware with the x
factors are to be borne in mind when we activating content indexing?
Microsoft also has been mentioned that the Full Text Indexing on the
Exchange 2003 does not recommended running under RAID 5 partition.
Why?
