1. FE is not for OWA only.
2. You don't need to publish the BE if you have the front end.

hi

I know this sounds silly but is front end meant to http OWA only? So if
users are to access their email through POP or IMAP I still need to publish
the back end server through the ISA?

If I publish the FE through the ISA then I don't need to publish the
backend? And users will still be able to send and receive emails?

Many thanks
