Microsoft uses a literal interpretation of 16 GB. In other words, 16,384 MB or
17,179,869,184 bytes.

You need to take similar care when making your comparisons.

Note also that Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2, due this fall although no
one can actually tell you exactly what THAT means, will increase Standard
Edition to 75 GB. Spending $4,000 now for something coming for "free" in a few
months might not be very palatable to your manager (although I can certainly
imagine business cases that might require it).

Thanks Bob.

When I look at the Priv1.edb and the Priv1.stm sizes, they amount to 16.2 GB's.
I'm now confused. Why is our Exchange Server up and still running if their
over their 16 GB limit?

I think I'm going to approach my manager to buy the Enterprise edition so we
won't have any Store issues.

TIA,
Mike

My guess is that the combination of your Priv1.edb and Priv1.stm are more that
16GB and your store won't mount.

This might help temporarily.

There must be other associated errors in the event log....Please list them in
their entirety, not just the Event ID. The description is sometimes more
helpful than the ID.

Also, how large is your store? Could you have exceeded 16GB?

Hi gang,

Win2k with all updates
Ex 2k, with all updates.

For what ever reason, last night, the Exchange Services stopped stating they
were terminated unexpectedly. Checked the event log and they are read Event ID
7001. I've verified that our AV software has been properly setup to Exclude
all Exchange folders, plus the IIS system files and the M:Drive.

I've verified the following for the IIS Admin Service.

After first fail: Restart service
After second fail: Restart service
After third fail: Run file

I haven't done the following but do you think this would solve my problems?

rd c:\exchsrvr\mailroot\vsi1old /s /q
ren "c:\exchsrvr\mailroot\vsi 1" vsi1old
c:
cd \exchsrvr\mailroot
md "vsi 1"

Any suggestions are greatly apprectiated.

TIA
Mike
