Exchange Server 2000 Blue screen

I am trying to install MS Exchange server 2000 on a test windows 2000 server
machine.
I get to the point in the installation where it checks the
active directories, 1 of 10. When it gets to around 6 of 10
i get a blue screen with a memory dump to disk and something like Kernel
Protection Mode.
Can anyone help me get past this. Thanks
