Kevin

You cannot have a Standard Version of Exchange 2000 act as a Front-End
Server, you can however use it as a Back-End Server.

Subject: [exchangelist] E2K Front-End Server with Exchange Standard
Edition?

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Good day Exchange List-eners,

It would seem that you cannot create a Front-End server using Exchange
Standard Edition as the "This is a Front-End Server" is not available.
I could however be experiencing some 'other' issue, therefore I'd like
to hear from someone saying, 'Yes' this works or 'No' it doesn't.

Seems a bit painful to have to buy 2 copies of Enterprise Edition just
to get the Front-End / Back-End functionality.

Thank you for your input,
Kevin
