The Superstition Mountain Astronomical League is very pleased to announce
we are resuming public observing events ("star parties:) beginning with the
2022-2023 astronomical observing season. This will be our 13th year of
proudly hosting these affairs, the first being in 2010, counting an
extended hiatus due to the pandemic. The club was founded in 2009.
Partly in response to the pandemic and to offer an improved astronomy
experience for our visitors, we're going to make a few changes for this
season.
Rather than alternate locations between Peralta Trail Elementary School and
Lost Dutchman State Park (as we had in the past), we will now host our
outreach events at the Lost Dutchman State Park in the late Fall, Winter
and early Spring when we have our winter members available to participate
with their telescopes.
All events listed in the attached schedule are open to the public, of
course.
For all Star Parties, Lost Dutchman State Park will be charging an event
fee of $5.00/person.
As long as everyone in a single car is registered for the event, there will
not be an additional car fee ($10 per vehicle). In order to ensure safety
and best guest experience in which everyone has maximum telescope time,
starting in January, a pre-registration will be required for admission. It
will be necessary to arrive during your allotted time slot. Register in
