This morning, I looked at old Board Meeting business and the only unresolved
old business is signage. I have done some research and pricing to get details
for discussion but have not completed it. My work/life/travel schedule is
extremely full and very tight between now and the week of April 22, so I won't
finish signage research before then. I know others also have a lot on their
plates early this month too.
Because a meeting in April would likely be very short my choice would be to
just skip April like we did in March and just have our regular May meeting. (If
you are curious, our by-laws require only two meetings per year.) If someone
has pressing business that can't wait, then please let me know and I will
schedule a (short) meeting on the 22nd.
This said, I know that Jake was interested in perhaps us setting up another
possible club star party in early-to-mid-May before our weather hits this
summer. April 22 would be too late to have that discussion. Jake, why don't you
introduce your idea and location in email. We can try an email discussion to
resolve it. If we can't take it to completion in email, then maybe I can set up
a 15-minute Zoom one night to discuss. Again, April 22 is too late to discuss
it.
Lastly, when we meet in May, we need to find some way to spend some club money
on public astronomy projects, or several small ASU astronomy program
scholarships, or telescopes for schools, or something of some sort. We are a
non-profit making a profit. It's a good problem to have but it is still a bit
of a problem.

All,
I am looking ahead at board meeting dates. A number of us are traveling to the
eclipse on April 8, which is our normal board meeting night. I had earlier
suggested moving the meeting to later that week or the next, but it turns out
my travel plans were up in the air. I now know that I am traveling in April the
week of the 7th and 14th and will not be home. I do return home the afternoon
before our normal club meeting so I am around for that.
So the choice for our next board meeting is really Monday April 22, or waiting
3 more weeks and having our normal March 13 meeting.
What is your preference?
