Yep .... looked at the map this morning.
Show Low is 3 hours up the road.
Much too far and to many issues to put that much effort into.

Hi folks,
I hope you all had a good holiday.
I got this just before Thanksgiving and decided to hold off on it until after
the holiday, and yesterday I got another copy of it from the guy, just in case
the first one didn't get through! So, I replied to that email, saying that I
wanted to get some input from the other officers and board members before
making any comments on his request.
Let me know what you all think.
Don

President, East Valley Astronomy Club
Hi Don,
I am writing you from southern Arizona on behalf of AZ State Parks.
I'd like to share a request from an Arizona State Parks ranger, Sarah Kirk, at
Fool Hollow State Park in Show Low, Arizona.
She was an interim park manager at Kartchner Caverns State Park over
the past few years. While she was at Kartchner, we ran astronomy programs, and
these became quite popular. At some events, we had more than 300 attendees.
Members from our club and others set up telescopes for night sky observing.
Anyway, she now works at Fool Hollow State Park in Show Low, AZ, and
she asked if it would be possible to run a similar event there. She would
like to aim for an evening observing event for May through September next year.
If this is something EVAC could help with, please let me know. Also, if
you'd like to spend the night there, Sarah is will to give free entry and
camping to astronomers with telescopes. To see examples of other astronomy
programs at AZ State Parks, please visit this link:
