I'm not surprised that 27 people interpret the instructions differently.
In this case, whichever method causes the least amount of hassle, is one
I'd support.
We can add this to Thursday's agenda, which I'll compose later today and
send out.

As the EVAC coordinator with the Astronomical League, I have sent them our
2019-2020 membership roster and the club check for $202.50 that Brooks gave
me. We have 27 new or renewing members, down one from 2018-2019. Some new

It is not really surprising, but it is a hassle to get 27 people to follow
instructions, send complete information, or verify that they have sent
payment. Therefore I think we should adopt a procedure for AL memberships
that Brooks is proposing:
Ask our members if they want to join/renew Astronomical League at the
beginning of the calendar year when everyone is renewing their EVAC
Membership. If so, they will pay the Treasurer the EVAC annual dues plus
the $7.50 AL Membership fee. AL is on a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year, so
the Treasurer would hold any AL fees from the time it is paid by our member
until it is time to submit to AL. Therefore any new AL memberships could
start up to six months after the EVAC member has paid. Renewing members
would be completely unaffected. Brooks can provide additional information
at our next Board meeting. I wholeheartedly support Brook’s proposal.
