Upcoming Public Outreach Events
Wednesday, March 2nd is Pomeroy Elementary (1507 W Shawnee Dr in Chandler
85224) from 6:00-8:00 pm. This is a Reading Under the Stars event. They are
expecting about 300 people. Nearest cross streets are Dobson & Elliot Rd..
Setup will be on the south side of the school on the paved driveway. Contact
is Barbara Skinner.
Tuesday March 1st and Thursday March 3rd are the Student Days at the Arizona
Renaissance Festival (12601 E Highway 60 in Gold Canyon) from 9:00am-2:30 pm.
This will be a solar viewing event for elementary students on Tuesday and Jr/Sr
High students on Thursday. If you have a solar telescope or a solar filter for
your telescope and would like to volunteer, please contact Claude Haynes.
If you can provide a telescope or assistance for these events please send an

want to bring a telescope, we can always use some help in talking about
astronomy to the participants.
