We are delighted to let you know that we have recently been awarded an
Expanding
Excellence in England

grant to launch an ambitious new research programme in translation and
interpreting. The programme will focus on the convergence of human and
automated approaches to different modalities of translation,
audiovisual/multimodal translation and interpreting. It will bring
together human-based
research practices with advances in machine learning and AI to enable and
promote a responsible integration of human and machine translation.



To complement our strengths in researching applications of technologies in
translation and interpreting with expertise in Natural Language Processing,
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, we are currently advertising
a range of academic positions. The post holders should have a strong
interest in combining human and automated approaches to translation:
