Special theme for Vol. 5, No. 1 (June, 2018): Lexicography and Phraseology

Papers are invited for publication in Lexicography 5.1 (June, 2018) with the 
special theme “Lexicography and Phraseology”. Possible topics are suggested 
below. The issue will include papers on other topics in the regular section.



Possible topics:

Ø  Linguistic units under investigation: phraseology, extended units of 
meaning, formulaic sequences, lexical bundles, n-grams, constructions, 
patterns, phrases, idioms, collocations, phrasal verbs, proverbs, semantic 
prosody

Ø  Dictionary types: general, specialized; receptive, productive; monolingual, 
bilingual, bilingualized; native speakers’, second language learners’

Ø  Target users: learners, professionals

Ø  Dictionary media: print, digital (web, applications, CD-ROM, hand-held 
machines)

Ø  Perspectives: editors’, lexicographers’, corpus linguists’, translators’, 
users’

Ø  Research into phraseology in dictionaries

Ø  Data collection, identification of phrases, and treatment of phraseology in 
different types of dictionaries

Ø  Dictionary users’ needs for and usage of phraseology

Ø  Phraseology for reception/production

Ø  Influence/Implications for dictionary compilation/interface, dictionary use, 
etc.

Ø  History of phraseological dictionaries

Ø  Etymology of phraseology
