Details to be announced once the program is finalised. The theme for Australex 2011 is "Dictionaries inside and outside the classroom". Paper offers may address a wide range of areas associated with the educational and cultural roles of dictionaries. Topics might include: learners dictionaries, dictionaries in indigenous communities, online dictionaries, the present state of the descriptive/prescriptive debate, specialist dictionaries, dictionary entry style, phraseology, language policy and lexicography, terminology and terminography, the social and cultural functions of regional dictionaries. If you would like to submit a paper, poster or panel contribution, please send an abstract of no more than 400 words to adam.smith@xxxxxxxxx by 1 August, 2011. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by 15 August, 2011. Up to two student bursaries are available to help full-time students from Australia and New Zealand attend the conference and present a paper.
