Workshop at the American Corner Yaffo

Open to the public and free of charge

Alan Roy Scott, an accomplished Hollywood songwriter and music producer, 
began his career with Screen Gems-EMI Music and with a division of Motown, 
where he was involved with Stevie Wonder, The Temptations and Smokey 
Robinson. Among the many artists who have recorded his songs are Celine 
Dion, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, Roberta Flack, The Neville Brothers and 
The Pointer Sisters. His TV/Film credits include songs used in Beverly Hills 
90210, Top Gun, First Wives Club, Coming to America, Karate Kid II, Fame (TV 
show), Santa Barbara and As The World Turns.

Scott will visit Israel from November 18 – 22, giving talks and conducting 
workshops for the Israeli music community, many of which are open to the 
public. Scott’s visit is sponsored by the US Embassy and Oleh! Records (RA). 
In addition to the American Corner/Arab Jewish Community Center in Yaffo, 
his visit will include the following locations: The Rimon School of Music, 
Hed Music College, Al Mashghral Center (Haifa), Massar School (Nazareth) and 
The Yellow Submarine (Jerusalem).

During his stay, Scott will also discuss plans to bring Music Bridges to 
Israel in 2010, a program which articulates Scott’s vision of uniting a 
world community through the creation of music.

On Sunday, November 22, Scott will conduct a songwriting workshop and master 
class at the American Corner Yaffo, the Arab-Jewish Community Center,
109 Kedem St. Yaffo, between 11:30 – 13:00
