i am trying to teach the past simple and past progressive in a good 8th grade group. they are smart, but also very stressed. they know how to form the 2 tenses, but still have no idea when to use each one. i have explained, had them make sentences based on pictures, looked at the different tenses in texts, made time lines .. and they still say - "but it's all the same time " (like in hebrew). any ideas of how i can get them to really internalize the concept? i would love to do something that gets them moving around, but with 39 kids that's a little hard. (maybe i could take them out to the lobby if there is something that would help them understand...) thanks for any ideas. -- sara g in israel sarag@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx saragabai@xxxxxxxxx Visit us at The E Zone http://clickit3.ort.org.il/ganyavneenglish ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
