Subject: Free books
I have been in contact with an American couple, Jerry and
Judy Klinger, who run an organization called "To Save a Life."
They believe that through reading English books, Israeli students
will widen their horizons and better their opportunities for success.
The Klingers collect books from donations, libraries that have
closed, and ship them to Israel. The book packages arrive at
my home or school ready for distribution. In the past, I have
received shipments of Readers Digest's condensed books.
books from the Time/Life series, books for young readers
with lots of pictures, etc. I am in contact with this wonderful
couple through e-mail and I specify the type of books I am
interested in. The books are shipped in book bags by sea .
We have been able to help build up a lovely English section
in my school library with many of the books we have received.
