Hi Ros,
I am the one who gives the other exam for this (TOEIC) and the exam is TODAY
(21st). For the A1 level she has to take Listening & Reading and Speaking.
It will cost her NIS 900 and she will have the certificates two weeks from
now.
The exam is taking place in Tel Aviv at Gymnasia Herzlia, Jabotinsky 106.
She must come with cash and be there at 14:45 at the latest.
She should also download and fill in the registration form from our website
(www.english-center.co.il). On the home page everything is in Hebrew, but on
the right hand it says in red in English: Registration form. (That is
because foreigners who are here sometimes find it convenient to take the
test here).
She (or you) should call me ASAP on 054-5587949.
Best regards,

Micaela Ziv

Subject: [etni] Test needed quickly to travel to work in England.

Friends Please help!!!
My son and daughter in law want to go to England - various reaons. On
February 9th she paid around 5,000 shekels for a working visa . She was told
that she had filled out all the forms (although they told her that she was
not allowed to check it. However certain adjusmernts were made at her
suggestion. My son needded to retravel to start his job. His year old baby
and wife are here waiting for the visa which was sent to Istanbul Yesterday
she received a refusal with an option to reapply nearly another 500 shekels
and she was told she has to provide "an original English Language test
certificate in speaking and listening from an English Language test provider
approved by the Secretary of State for these purposes, which clearly shows
the applicant's name and the qualification obtained(which must meet or
exceed level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference".
Trrying to find out where she can sit for this test she was told it would
cost 1,000 shekels and she has to wait until 12th of April. They need to be
together, the baby is fretting and we are all going crazy! Can anyone tell
us of a place she can sit this exam NOW?
Thanks
Ros
