[etni] Pronoun reference

It is referring to the children. Fewer children, but the parents spoiling
them (and buying what they request/demand) has increased their spending
power.

Hello..
I'd like to thank all the teachers who advised me not to consider "is
still to be seen" a mistake. You are all great, always!
I have another question about what a pronoun refers to in a certain
text. Last week, my class was divided and I also had trouble making up
my mind as to whom "their" refers to in the following paragraph :
"Another worrying trend is that working mums and dads are spoiling
kids so that, even though the numbers of children are falling, their
spending power is increasing."
What do you think?
