Good morning. The silence has been deafening. On ETNI FB, there's more discussion going on about the bagrut and the dealings with Matach. Firstly, both Modules D and F were fair. The BTC options on D were great. As a parent of a 12th grader and a teacher, I enjoyed the writing task of G which I've seen before, but found that at 5pm, after the day's events, some of the multiple choice questions were more of an IQ test. People found E fair. Module C: This level is meant for 3 and 4 pointers, emphasis on the former. Over the past year, Module C has become consistently more difficult. Here, too, our staff sat and said that they had to go back to be sure they had given the correct answers. This level is supposed to be clear cut - not manipulation of the information. Which leads to two more downfalls: This time, the iTest failed. For Module C, students countrywide who had done the simulation and were processed in the system were erased. Students using the iTest are those who can't deal at 5pm with delays and the frustration. My 3 pointer who has done every matkonet on my laptop using Text to Speech technology suddenly had to go back to using a disc. It's not the same. And finally, would someone please have mercy on new Olim? There has to be an alternative to the literature if it's becoming part of 3 points. Even Module B was difficult for our Ethiopian students who didn't recognize some concepts in Hebrew. They need to learn and get tested on basic English vocabulary and reading skills without needing to analyze literary pieces. To quote my 4 pointers' What's App conversation the night before the exam: "When I travel around the world, no sane person will ask me why Greg's father was angry with him at the beginning of the story." (although some one may ask about the road not taken).
