Right. It's really difficult. I don't do a section at a time. I do them
in batches. I'll sit for 2-3 hours and grade a bunch. Then go back the
next day for a few more hours. I haven't been able to figure out a way to
make it go faster. I have 38 kids in my grade 9 class and sat for days on
an assignment that comprised a few written pages. The only solution is to
give less graded work. But then the kids get less feedback from you....

Subject: Request for time saving grading tips
Hi. I'm having a really hard time getting through the tests and
assignments of my grades 10 and 11 five point classes. There are 33
students in one class and 35 in the other, and I just find the piles
so overwhelming. I grade the tests a section at a time, but it's still
hard to be motivated enough to finish grading. I have the same
problems with post reading essays and, of course, I'm really nervous
about the module Gs for next year, when I move up with them. Any
suggestions would be most helpful.
Please refrain from making any negative comments about class size or
workload. This is the situation, and I'd just like tools to deal with
it.
Thank you,
Rena
