The poll should have been gender specific with regards to achievement,
because the outcomes are different for boys and girls. I actually did
a research project on this topic when I was studying for my M.Ed.
Generally girls tend to do better when separated from boys, especially
in math and science. Boys tend to do the same or worse without girls.
The dynamics which cause these differences are quite interesting.
