My question is, what about those who don't? She also gave a good example regarding Mr. Wikipedia. I also have contact with pupils in the Bedouin Sector who are not connected in any way to the English-language culture. They have been raised and nurtured in their own rich Arabic and Arab traditions. As a result they are in a similar situation as Jewish religious pupils Sara described. Let me also add that many of the textbooks approved by the MOE include topics very foreign to these learners. I agree that through our lessons we should expose our pupils to the Appreciation of Culture but on an examination, pupils should not be penalized for what they are "expected" to know. And they are! I might add that I've also come across texts in the Bagrut practice books which are more than "unseen" to some pupils. So, I would also like to know how the MOE takes this all into account? Who can give us an answer?
