----- Original Message ----- From: byk - byk@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: ambiguous questions Actually, I'm not sure whether to class this as an ambiguous question, but in any case I would like to bring this to the attention of the list, to see what reactions there are. Although this particular example appeared in a practice book, it is the type of question that appears frequently on the Bagrut. Circle the correct answer YES or NO Florence didn't get paid when she worked in the hospital. YES / NO (She didn't get paid; she volunteered) Is the answer YES - This statement is right. She didn't get paid. Or is it NO. No, she didn't get paid. Of course it would be better to phrase the question TRUE / FALSE, but this is not always done. I think this should be pointed out to the examining board. There is no point in haveing even more confusion than there is at present. And on that note, may I wish all those involved an 'enjoyable' Bagrut next week.
