Thirty-two Jerusalem High School coordinators prepared and sent a letter to
Mr Gidon Saar and Dr Shimshon Shoshani with copies to Dr Judy Steiner,
Bentzi Nemet of Manhi and Nurit Valency of the Irgun
We refuse to implement the new bagrut HOTS program as it stands now. The
letter is below with the list of teachers. The letter is in Hebrew and
English, the list in Hebrew only. I don't know if ETNI can post Hebrew.
We urge you to take a stand - and make your voice heard.
Pass this on to any teachers/ coordinators you know

Re: New English Bagrut Program, Modules D and F
We, the members of the Forum of English Coordinators of Jerusalem's High
Schools, wish to bring to your attention our feelings regarding the new
English Bagrut program, modules D and F. Our concerns have been submitted
to the Inspectorate on several occasions and have been discussed by Dr.
Judy Steiner, the Chief Inspector of English and Ms. Dalia Fenig of the
Ministry of Education. However, apart from a few very minor alterations
that have been made, no real consideration has been given to the major
problems that we all see in the program.
Although we all enjoy teaching literature and recognize its value, we
unanimously refuse to implement the program as it stands now. We insist
that implementation be delayed until the problems, concerns and issues
raised by the teachers in the field are dealt with in an acceptable manner.

מבקשים להביא לידיעתכם את עמדתנו לגבי תוכנית הבגרות החדשה באנגלית, שאלונים
D ו- F.
עמדתנו זו על נימוקיה הובעה מספר פעמים בפני מפמ"ר אנגלית, ד"ר ג'ודי שטיינר
ובפני הגב' דליה פניג, ממשרד החינוך.
חשוב לציין כי פרט למספר שינויים זניחים שנעשו, לא היתה התייחסות משמעותית
לבעיות הרציניות והמהותיות אשר כל החתומים להלן הבחינו בקיומן.
אמנם כולנו נהנים ללמד ספרות אנגלית ומכירים בערכה, אך עם זאת
החלטנו פה אחד לסרב ליישם תוכנית זו כפי שהוצגה.
אנו דורשים שיישום התוכנית יידחה עד אשר הבעיות הרבות
שהועלו ע"י המורים בשטח יקבלו מענה הולם ורציני.
