----- Original Message ----- From: Esther Revivo - estherrv@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: C- UNFAIR EXAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came home Thursday evening utterly frustrated. I was absolutely spitting bullets from exasperation and frustration! Firstly, to put the C module at such a late hour, when it is the first exam the four pointers must do is a bad decision. Secondly (and primarily,) this winter's C exam was so excruciatingly difficult it was pathetic! 85% of our girls were in tears as they left the exam room, and rightly so. For D was child's play in comparison to C, while E seemed quite fair. Why in heavens would someone choose to make the first module of the 4 point Bagrut so much harder than D? Additionally, there were SO many questions-- it was TOO LONG! I also feel the G was too hard, but as 5 pointers are going on to careers in law and medical schools, that's more or less to be expected. There is going to be a HUGE gap between "tziyunim shanati'im" (the Magen) but to no fault of ours. It's at times like this that I ask myself why I didn't go to nursing school instead of entering teaching. There are a lot of very VERY frustrated young people in our country since Thursday along with many unhappy teachers. Do you folks agree? If so, write EVERYONE "upstairs!!" It is horrific that the level of module difficulty differs so dramatically from one exam season to another. Somebody here goofed, because I'd hate to think that anyone in the MOE enjoys our pupils' exasperation and frustration!.
