As you know, the learning of English is encumbered not only by the lose relation between meaning, spelling, and pronouncing ("Currently I read the red book that you read last year") but by the geographical variation in pronounciation. Not only between UK and USA (ignoring S Afr and Australia) but even within each. Is anybody in charge of distinguishing hot from hut? Thanks for any attention, Yehudah Werner Yehudah L.
