Speaking Theatre.
The play, written by Susan Lieberman, David Rush and Rosalie Gerut, is
based on true events in the United States of the early 1900's. Gathered
from the streets of New York and other eastern cities, homeless children
were sent out West on orphan trains to be adopted by small-town and farm
families.
*/Prairie Lights/* puts special focus on two of these children – a
Jewish brother and sister who arrive in the frontier town of Wellspring,
Nebraska, and are adopted by the town's only Jewish residents, a
childless couple prepared to sacrifice much for love.
You may choose to attend the matinee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January
18^th , or the evening performance that night at 8:30 p.m. All
performances will take place at the Hirsch Theatre in Jerusalem.
ETAI is obtaining a special group rate of 55 NIS for all members and
their families. (The matinee performance will only cost 45 NIS.) If you
are interested, call the ETAI office IMMEDIATELY at 02-500-1844 (1-7 p.m.).
