Hi all, I want to respond to Aviva's post. Aviva, I don't think you will find many that will disagree with you. Most of us don't dispute the value of the HOTS program and its obvious benefits. The problem is having the necessary conditions under which to implement it; namely extra hours and pay. From reading the posts on ETNI and Judy Steiner's replies to letters sent, it's obvious that there are misunderstandings regarding teacher's positions on the HOTS program. I'm sure that very few are diametrically opposed to the program as a program but rather the impossible conditions under which to implement it. Telling us that once we take the course we will see that everything will magically fall into place is offensive. We are talking about a lot more work than we had before, in and out of school. We simply must be compensated for this, otherwise we will see more and more English teachers leaving the profession and this is a shame because we need more English teachers not less. This is the core issue as I see it. Shavua Tov.
