The other reason I was emailing is to invite you all to the final dress
rehearsal of my new company's latest project, Lost in Thought, the world's
first ever mindfulness opera.
All the details are below, if you'd like to come along, please let me know.
If you'd like to come but aren't free in the evening, I'm also after a few
people for a rehearsal in the day around 11am (there's a chance you'll be
on TV!)
It should be a really unusual and intriguing evening, and would absolutely
love to share it with you guys!

This September we’re excited to present the world premiere of our
co-production *Lost in Thought: A Mindfulness Opera*, conceived and
composed by *Rolf Hind* and directed by *Frederic Wake-Walker. **Lost in
Thought *is an intimate musical, theatrical and spiritual experience that
invites you to reimagine what opera can be.
We would be delighted if you would join us as part of the audience for the
final dress rehearsal on *Thursday 24 September, 6pm-10pm, at **LSO St

Structured after a silent retreat, the performance blends music and
meditation, exploring the points of contact between sound and silence.
Accompanied by mezzo-soprano *Lore Lixenberg, *the audience is guided on
an inner journey of mindfulness with moments of contemplation, communal

The piece requires the audience to be focused throughout, so we ask all
attendees to commit to the full duration of the work. Audience members are
welcome to participate as far as they are comfortable. All meditation
elements are taught by leaders, with no previous experience necessary. We
recommend wearing loose, warm, comfortable clothing.
Alongside the performances, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama has
curated a number of events exploring music and mindfulness, including a
day-long symposium and a mindfulness taster session. Full details are on

Finely crafted songs by Emily Hall and Icelandic writer Sjón tell the
story of a couple’s descent into shared madness. Following performance
across Europe, *Folie à Deux *is presented as part of Totally Thames
Festival at Trinity Buoy Wharf, with a Thames boat-ride and cocktail to
complete the evening.
